After the Shadey Wars, there was a 250 year peace that followed. The Spectral Church led the charge with Lumina Solara as their leader for the first 40.
The Colour Courts in their infancy were heavily manipulated by The Three Subtracts as they consolidated their power. Additionally, the closeness in hue of some borders led to significant border conflicts, with each of The Colour Courts' leaders determining that this was their land and was meant to be so according to Colouria.

Somehow, a short time after each one of these conflicts began, The Three Subtracts would always agree that they had been spoken to by Colouria and determined that one of the two parties were correct. The border conflict would eventually die down and another conflict would begin elsewhere.

In 349 A.S., however, a border conflict began between the Green and Yellow courts over The Mixing Expanse. A huge swath of land in the middle of the continent, where a lot of colour leakage occurs. The Cyan and Magenta subtracts of the time suggested that The Green Court was determined by Colouria as the rightful owner of the land, but the yellow subtract supported The Yellow Court in its' claim. This led to the second great conflict of Rainbovia since The Spill.

The Red, Violet and Blue Courts sided with The Green Court, while Indigo and Orange sided with The Yellow Court. The war ran for 58 years, with the conflicts between each court growing more and more aggressive.

As the war raged on, the people of Rainbovia wore the brunt of the conflict. While some court leaders fought on battlefields, many did not. Instead sending their people to die for a cause they hadn't bought into.

In early 400 A.S. spies for The Indigo Court discovered and exposed that The Three Subtracts had in fact been meeting in private and coordinating an effort to maintain the war. The conflict had been sending more citizens of Rainbovia away from their allegiance to The Colour Courts and into the open arms of The Spectral Church. While they hadn't started the war for this reason, when they realised the influence it would give them in the long run they had allowed the conflict to continue.

The Colour Courts stopped their conflicts immediately with the Violet and Indigo courts leading the charge for The Spectral Church to have its' power limited and the separation of church and state. The information gathered by The Indigo Court was undeniable and easily demonstrated to the people of Rainbovia how they had been used.

In 408 A.S. The Colour Council was formed, and The Spectral Church was forced to stand down. The Palette Wars are a cautionary tale still used to this day to argue for the separation of church and state. It was at this time that the rotation requirements of The Spectral Light was put into place.
