Session 5 Journal
Party Present
Previously on Rainbovia....
The party continued their time apart with each seeking to get more information on their own backgrounds as well as the world at large.
Irmia Rissa Rime
Irmia's time in The Indigo Court continued with her spending time researching both her magic and the magic that she saw displayed by Goldenspire.
She also searched up on the history of Indigo, seeking more information about the church and her new role.
What she Learned:
- She learned about the past 2 Spectral Legate's for The Indigo Court, one of them was appointed by Midnight and was killed by the church, the other was appointed by the church and was killed by Midnight.
- Irmia has placed herself in a somewhat safe place by befriending and influencing the populace of Indigo
- She also learned of huge political tension in the Indigo Court as they are currently attempting to deliver universal healthcare and free tertiary education but the richest 2% are pushing back on it.
- She earned that her magic doesn't look like any of the other archbishops
- And she saw referenceto the "Colourian Prism" and recalled the title that Goldenspire had included 'The Seeker of Prisms' as one of his titles
Irmia met up with Gest Ranecord via the underdark cart network and they shared some of their learnings and their connection.
After a few months, Irmia was reuqested at The Mixing Expanse and connected with the whole party there.
Alfie the Elf
Alfie originally spent some time at The Blue Court but after a very aggressive tone from his old friend Teddy Bluesavelt, and seeing a pink thong on his contact with The Blue Court he skipped town and burned his stuff in a barrel.
He made his way to The Green Court where he was seeking to connect with Jade 'mentioned' Forest (who had recently been in town for a state funeral). When he got to the Emerald City he found out that Jade had already gone back to The Mixing Expanse.
SO Alfie the Elf followed her there where he met up with the Party.
Apollion
Apollion decided to try his luck once more with Citrinia Ambers but was unsuccessful in learning her secrets.
Apollion decided to head to The Mixing Expanse where he met with Marigold Glow who remembered their conversations after the first encounter at The Mixing Expanse and agreed to give him a letter of recommendation for Red Court. In a closed door discussion with Cyrus Furnace (the new, very patient Red Court ambassador to the colour council), Azure Tide and Marigold Glow he paved the way for him to get into the red court and meet back up with Crimson Blaze.
On his way to The Mixing Expanse he encountered the yellow border barrier that had been put up by Goldenspire. It was clearly magical and had split border towns down the middle, but had not (as far as Apollion heard) split any people.
Apollion also saw a yellow border patrol cross the border and go back again.
While there he once again met the Party. This time he opened up a little bit on what he was hoping to achieve and shared a bit more information with the group.
Gest Ranecord
Gest spent much of her time investigating more of her background and history, but also found an underdark passage that led her to The Indigo Court via the underdark cart network.
She met with Irmia and attempted to get help learning about her recent experience with seeing the green goblin instead of Crimson Blaze.
Gest learned through her brother Tack, that Jade 'mentioned' Forest had attended a state funeral for the green goblin that had been the body of Crimson Blaze after the illusion had worn off. A rumour had slipped through the cracks that they were lovers?
When talking to Apollion about his magics, he recalled the feeling of an external source of power for which they were a conduit - the same feeling Gest has when she uses dance or song to create magic.
In contrast this power she felt consume her when she saw through the illusion of Crimson Blaze came from inside her.
Gest also ended up back with the party at The Mixing Expanse.
Back at The Mixing Expanse
The Mixing Expanse had been turned from a museum to a mock-war camp. Each of the colours excluding yellow had started to build their own bases and set up as a temporary outpost of the conflict.
While there, the party discovered that Lemon and Lemone had been captured and were being held in a PoW camp.
Getting back together as a party, they decided that they wanted to look for a guest list for the coronation. Alfie recalled the filing cabinets that he had stood on top of on his first visit to The Mixing Expanse - Gest and Alfie decided to go their to take a look for some things.
Inside The Mixing Expanse museum, Alfie and Gest were fairly easily able to break into the filing cabinet room.
Inside they discovered the guest list for the party, a stone-of-good-luck-xdmg and minutes from a closed meeting with the Green, Red and Blue ambassadors, in which Blue insisted that they would not let Goldenspire become the Spectral Light.
They copied this information out and got outta dodge.
At the same time, Irmia and Apollion were going to visit Lemon and Lemone in prison and try to learn more about what they knew and what they had been told.
Apollion and Irmia convinced the guards to let them take Lemon and Lemone separately to ask them some questions.
Lemon was not intimidated at first and insisted that he knew nothing.
Apollion suggested that Lemon must tell them the truth and give them the information they required.
Lemon told them of his afternoon, where he got in trouble for leaving his gate post and hooking up with the half-orc at the Kissing Booth.
He then told them of the conversation that he had overheard in The Yellow Court quarters that evening, of Lord Goldenspire talking to someone that he couldn't see or recognise from their voice. Goldenspire was talking about something that he'd almost found and that the weapon he was after would win the war for them. The other voice told him that he'd "better get it sorted quick".
As Lemon finished telling him about it, he was killed by a ball bearing to the forehead.
