Session 7 Journal
Party Present
Previously on Rainbovia....
After the party investigated and cleaned up the site of their previous encounter with the orange soldiers, they proceeded to continue to travel to The Scarlet Sanctum.
They arrived at the small crossing village that offers tours and ferries to pilgrims and adventurers and saw the brilliant ruby building off in the distance on the Scarlet Sanctum island.
They spent some time in the small village, met a bunch of guys called Jeff and John and bought some keychains that said Jeff on them. This town fails the Bechdel test.
They heard about a few pilgrims that had travelled over to the island recently, specifically some from yellow and an older gentleman called John.
The next morning they crossed over to the island on Jeff's ferry and walked towards the sanctum carefully. They discovered the body of John the gnome pilgrim who appeared to have been killed on the journey to the temple.
The party cautiously proceeded towards The Scarlet Sanctum after some time debating the risks of being caught with the body. When they arrived at the Sanctum they heard extremely loud screams.
They snuck up to the door and peeked inside to find the door has been blown down, bodies of Red clerics and yellow soldiers everywhere. Scorch marks and stains etc.
A yellow humanoid was torturing Magan while his two cronies held the body down. The party could see Magan had been tortured for a while - dried blood sticking to the altar and it appeared he had been healed and tortured repeatedly.
The party snuck into the space, hearing the yellow human demand to know "Where is it?" from Magan.
The party attacked and combat ensued!
During the combat, magical darkness covered the altar and it was hidden for a few moments. In that time they heard the scream and cry of Magan being cut off as if he was dead. When the darkness parted they saw his body on the altar had been killed by the Yellow man who was some kind of magician.
The party managed to heal Magan before he died, and he lay unconscious but saved as they took down the magician and his two cronies.
In the last few minutes another crony ran in who the party managed to intimidate into dropping his weapon and submitting.
The party were debating what to do with the crony to avoid him getting ball-bearinged to the head, when Magan (who'd awoken and been healed slightly) stood up and cut out the yellow prism in his skin, freeing him from the curse.
Freed from the risk of the ball bearing killing him they asked him some questions:
Who had sent them?
They'd been sent by Goldenspire and under the orders of the yellow warlock were attempting to gain access to something. They'd not been told exactly what they had been sent for but were to assist the yellow warlock no matter the cost.
Who had given them the yellow prism cut into their skin?
They couldn't remember - the memory was there but thy knew it wasn't Goldenspire because they were sure they'd never met Goldenspire.
Where did they come from and where were they returning to?
