Introduction
We met our characters in The Mixing Expanse, between green and yellow lands for the coronation of Lord Goldenspire.
Inside The Mixing Expanse museum, murals and artworks describe the story of the war between green and yellow that led to The Palette Wars.
A stage had been built at the front of the stage made of wood from each coloured court and was patterned specifically to reflect each colour having equal contact with the others.
Meeting Vermillion and his Flashback
- Vermillion introduced: A Pale red elfish man sitting between 2 humans from the Yellow court - Lemon and Lemone DuBlanc on a caravan coming into the town.
- He won a Bloodwell vial from them!
- In his flashback he met 2 well dressed men in a tavern a few days travel from the mixing expanse. He managed to convince them that he was a manger for a musician and that he would help them find someone to play at the upcoming coronation.
Meeting Ooooff and his Flashback
- Ooooff introduced: A deep blue gnome lying on top of the caravan
- In his flashback he is preparing to play at an open-stage night at the local tavern. One day after Vermillion's encounter.
- In the blue-room prior to his number he found a moon sickle under a floorboard.
- He performs ok, but utilises a few cheeky tricks to hide his clarinet playing.
- Somehow Vermillion manages to convince them to sign Ooooff to the event.
Meeting Horth and his Flashback
- Horth introduced: A yellow goliath walking quietly alongside the caravan.
- In his flashback he is stuck on a ship working for a terrible captain.
- A local woman escapes from the captains quarters and Horth begrudgingly helped her escape before rowing her to shore.
- Back in town she gave him a tattoo (eldritch-claw-tattoo-tce) in thanks. He then walked away and heard some average clarinet and some thunder in the nearby tavern before being waved over by 2 yellow humans and asked to work for their caravan for a few days.
Meeting Vaelith and her Flashback
- Vaelith introduced: A quite indigo elf rogue. Sitting inside the caravan drinking from some of the barrels of wine.
- In her flashback she is sitting in that very same tavern the night before Vermillion met his two new friends - she sees that bard on stage is performing brilliantly, giving an exceptional performance and dancing extremely lightly on the stage using some very impressive boots.
- The blade at her hip demands attention and she hears a whisper in her mind "The bard. Tonight. Or Else."
- She followed him out to the street and absolutely savaged him, and stole his boots.
Meeting Keanu and his Flashback
- Keanue introduced: A lean green human working at the stables by the rear entrance of the festival. With a small black puppy at his side (shadow)
- In his flashback he is touring a group of wealthy glamping holiday-goers from The Green Court through the Veridian forest. One of them offers him their clock (a natures-mantle-xdmg cloak) and also asks him if he'd want to work for the next week at the coronation of Lord Goldenspire - offering him their tickets to the event.
The Party Meet
As the caravan pulls up to meet Keanu Leaves, the DuBlanc brothers jump out off the front of the caravan and explain that this is where they're required to drop everything and that's their job done.
They notice that the event is heavily guarded and a magical ward prevents anyone without a ticket from entering.
Vermillion, Ooooff and Vaelith are stopped at the rear entry by a green dwarf-xphb who is checking for tickets and ensuring entry is managed properly.
They attempt to call for Mr Blue and Mr Red who Vermillion met at the tavern to ask them to let them into the event.
Keanu is unimpressed by their attempts to ask for his tickets to enter the festival and walks away.
Horth just picks up a barrel and follows the quarter master in who takes the help and lets him in with him.
Eventually Mr Red and Mr Blue return and let in Vermillion, Ooooff and Vaelith and let them know they can enjoy the celebration for the next 45 minutes before the event begins.
Keanu is sent on his break and also enters the fair.
Fair Event:
The clearing in the middle of the trees is the centre of attention and the location where the celebration is being held. The Mixing Expanse museum.
A central stage built from wood imported from all of The Colour Courts, surrounded by enchanted symbols representing The Three Subtracts. The stage is built in front of the central memorial building that was built following The Palette Wars, inscribed with the story of the war and this site as the first conflict that occurred between Green and Yellow.
The stage is made of 5040 thin strips of wood, each plank is a different colour, and the arrangement of each of the planks is placed such that there is no combination that is the same and that each colour comes into contact with the other colours the exact same number of times.
Vermillion and Vaelith use one of their old plays and engage some of the richer elements of the nobility into some discussion. They manage to sell Selwyn the Emberhold Bridge and promise to get back to him with his paperwork.
Keanu attempts the duck shot - but can't quite get the points needed. Instead he manages to build a small piece of equipment that lets the operator use only one hand to move the ducks, and earns himself a healing potion that way.
Horth and Ooooff attempt the Three Cups, managing to catch the Orange Tabaxi in a small bit of deception (or at least Ooooff realises - unclear if Horth does). Ooooff however was using his own little trick to try and catch out the tabaxi and they just call it evens.
Vermillion and Vaelith get their fortune taken by a weird old lady; they are given the following fortunes:
Vaelith: A dog will follow you home. It is not a dog.
Vermillion: Someone will forgive you for something you never did.
Big Moment:
All of the party except Keanu return to side stage as Ooooff will be required to play once the coronation has occurred and while they are doing some formal signing of documents.
Keanu sits in the crowd with 4 empty seats next to him.
Introduce each of the reigning leaders and their ambassadors as they enter the stage.
Midnight is not present but is represented by the Ambassador.
Noticed that they were all armed and wearing their weapons.
Coronation begins, bit of coronation pomp & ceremony.
Luceun Braun is doing a lot of the coronation steps - the old old old yellow man who's so old he's gone brown.
At the peak of the coronation moment, Lemon DuBlanc runs out onto the stage but has been leached of all colour.
Chaos breaks out and people being to run everywhere, the leaders all run inside in a panic.
As people all run around them, the party see a bunch of dark cloaked individuals stepping through the crowd and towards the side of the stage where they are standing.
Then the party rolled for Initiative:
